Even marvelous enlightenment
is the phantom city.

In detachment there
is freedom and contentment.
One who empties himself of all
desire now finds himself
awash with joy.

When we become
truly ourselves, we just become
a swinging door, and we are purely independent
of, and at the same time, dependent upon everything.
Without air, we cannot breathe. Each one of us is
in the midst of myriads of worlds. We are in
the center of the world always,
moment after moment.

I want to
make myself an empty
room: quiet whitewashed walls
with slant sunshine and a fresh
breeze through open
windows.

Do not ever fight or argue,
because for God there are no fights
or arguments. For that One everything is love,
everything is in the form of love, compassion,
and truth. May God provide you with
the blessings and grace to live
in that state.
