truth is nearer than the mind and body

stop your search

You still imagine that truth

needs pointing at and telling you: ‘Look, here is truth’.

It is not so. Truth is not the result of an effort, the end of a road.

It is here and now, in the very longing and the search for it. It is nearer than

the mind and the body, nearer than the sense ‘I am’. You do not see it

because you look too far away from yourself, outside your

innermost being. You have objectified truth and

insist on your standard proofs and tests,

which apply only to things

and thoughts…

Truth is not a reward for good behaviour,

nor a prize for passing some tests. It cannot be brought about.

It is the primary, the unborn, the ancient source of all that is. You are

eligible because you are. You need not merit truth. It is your

own. Just stop running away by running after.

Stand still, be quiet.

Causes are complex

and have different time scales.

The efforts of the individual are not

the sole determining factor in the individual’s

condition in life, because everyone is part of the

nexus of society and nature and the continuum

of time. It is common for people to attribute

causes wrongly because of misperception

of real relationships.

Every cause is the effect of

something else, and every effect is

the cause of something else. What may seem

like a curse may be a blessing, and what may seem

a blessing may be a curse. Hardship is a blessing

when it spurs effort and development; ease is

a curse when it increases complacency

and self-indulgence.

no exertion or effort

There is no place

for exertion or effort in buddhism;

it is just a matter of
being normal and non-obsessed,

taking care of bodily functions,
 dressing and eating,
 lying down

when tired.
 Fools laugh at me;
 it is the wise ones
 who

understand this.
 An ancient said,
“Those who

work on externals are all

ignoramuses.”

do the next thing with devotion

it’s not always about the men

Nobody can set right

a mismanaged life with a few words.

But there is no pit you cannot climb out of provided

you make the right effort at the right place. When one is in a mess

like you are, one has no right any more to worry about the idiocy of one’s

own psychology, but must do the next thing with diligence and devotion

and earn the goodwill of others. In every littlest thing you do in this

way you will find yourself. Everyone has to do it the hard

way, and always with the next, the littlest,

and the hardest things.

decide now to be free

Perry Bible Fellowship

You

have to decide

right now to be free

once and for all. Everyone who

has found freedom in this lifetime has

had to make this decision. Now is the time

to have a direct introduction to this moment.

This moment is free of time, of mind, of any notions.

When one abides as the Self, some divine power

takes charge of one’s life. All actions then take

place spontaneously, and are performed

very efficiently, without any

mental effort or

activity.
