Heckuva job, Barry: the wheeze from the West Wing
June 16th, 2010
You can parse President
Barack Obama’s entire Oval Office
speech on the Gulf armageddocatastrofuck here, but
don’t go looking for anything substantive, real, or meaningful.
This is the entire message, strictly condensed, using his own words:
“The path forward has been blocked — not only by oil industry lobbyists, but also
by a lack of political courage and candor (mine especially). I am happy to
look at other ideas…we’re unsure…we don’t yet know…
It is a faith in the future that sustains us…
The ceremony goes on in good
times and in bad.”
I campaigned,
I gave him my money, and
I voted for him — but neither the Gulf,
the nation, nor the world will be led
where we so desperately need
to go by this man.
Imagine that yesterday
you were watching a Shakespearean play.
On the same day the king bleats out that pussyfart
of a speech, his general has a fainting spell under
questioning from the Senate, and lightning
strikes his tallest and most important
ship. Whither then the
Empire?
