into the mother whales of the world, the baby whales

of the world, all the whales of the world, with one phone call

and for less money than she spends on the flower arrangements at one of

her personal resorts, hypocritical plutocrat Pam Omidyar (wife of

gentleman publisher and fellow plutocratic hypocrite

Pierre Omidyar) cried, “I’d have to make a phone

call?!  Oh, bother and fiddlestix!  Let’s go

surfing in my beloved ocean instead!”

Then she changed her

Derby hat.

The
living are
given homes
according to their
unique individualities.
A nightingale has its familiar
place, the turtledove a hidden nest.
Crows have different accommodations.
Gemstones hold values that road gravel does
not. Each being flies toward its home, toward
its value, on wings of longing, one to be
a shoemaker, another, king.
Different bargains
are struck with
each.

Very
early one
morning I rose
and went to the mosque
to try and change the bargain
made with my soul. Several observations
came to me as I did this. One was that early morning
is a fine time to be up. The second was that there are places
where demons attack people like packs of dogs, and other
places where the influences are more angelic and helpful.
The third was that human beings, men especially, are
likely to absorb the demonic qualities and then
gather around wealth. We should be wary of

rich people. You may not see the threat.

It’s not physical. The damage

they do happens in

your heart.
