Prescription to cure the runaway hypocrisy of the multi-billionaire Pam Omidyar: Chapter the Twelfth of “Eat the Rich & Share the Wealth”
April 30th, 2010
Morning, Sweetums.
I know how easy it is for a person
to grow cold and put limits on her love and say “Damn
the ocean!” and profess helplessness in the face of the
world’s woes. But you ain’t helpless where the
whales and the ocean are concerned, as I
explained in this post
the other day:
To get in touch
with the mountain in
you, just send an email to
I’ll bet you a nickel that if you tell them you’re
a multi-billionaire who would like to actually save the whales,
as opposed to tweeting about it, they’ll put you right on the horn with
Paul Watson and he’ll give you the price tag for buying the right vessels –
with food for the crews and fuel for the engines — to enable their
extremely proven selves to tail and harass the planet’s
handful of remaining whalers until they
give up the barbarism.
And I’ll bet you
a whole stack of nickels that
the figure he gives you will be less than
the interest you made on your billions in April.
I know it would break your back to talk to the likes of me,
Sweetums, but this wouldn’t cause you to break a sweat, much less
your spine. Heck, you can even Paypal the money to Paul! Which will be easy
because — har! — Paypal is one of the little baubles in your billionaire purse!
Maybe Paul will even break me off a finder’s fee so I can finance
EarthNationLive and stop asking you to borrow
another whole month’s interest
on your billions!
Unless,
that is, you
prefer:
…that
civilizations are
not realities, but only dreams;
dreams of the mind, not of the heart,
and therefore fictitious, and perishable;
that they have never affected the heart and
therefore have no valuable progress; that the
heart remains today what it always was, as
intimacy with any existing savage tribe
shall show. Indeed the average of the
human ‘brain’ is not a shade higher
today than it was in Egyptian
times ten thousand
years ago.
