What’s more wrong than “indefinite detention”? Get back to me. I’ll wait. Indefinitely.

“The

Obama administration

has decided to continue to imprison

without trials nearly 50 detainees at the Guantánamo

Bay military prison in Cuba because a high-level task force has

concluded that they are too difficult to prosecute

but too dangerous to release, an

administration official said

on Thursday.”

NY Times

“Too difficult

to prosecute” means we tortured them,

and trying them will bring that into the light in a big

way, and be an embarassment, and likely result in having

to discard evidence, and possibly result in acquittals.

And we can’t accept that because we, as always,

are right.  And “doing shit because you

can” means “you are immoral

and wrong”.

Cowardice

asks the question, ‘Is it safe?’

Expedience asks the question, ‘Is it politic?’

Vanity asks the question, ‘Is it popular?’

But conscience asks the question,

‘Is it right?’
