Amazon re-censors “The Art of War: Sun Tzu, Barack Obama, and the Modern Moment”
December 16th, 2009
Guess
I spoke too soon
yesterday when I said that
Amazon had lifted its censorship
of The Art of War: Sun Tzu, Barack Obama,
and the Modern Moment. Turns out Amazon is still
censoring my book everywhere except in the United States —
as far as I can tell, anyway. I’m getting stuff
like this from all over
the place.
Jeff Bezos
likes to do stuff like this.
He went through a brouhaha years ago
when it was discovered that Amazon was censoring gay
and lesbian material. You could look it up. He doesn’t seem to feel shy or
apologetic about performing this kind of function for the entire planet, either.
He sure as hell doesn’t answer emails about it. I know he reads his
email — I asked him directly for some dough for
Earth Nation Live once, and a nice woman
named Alice Powers from his office
got in touch to say no,
sorry.
But he
sure ain’t talking
to me now.
